I agree 100% with all the negative reviews. I felt like bursting into tears when I exited his consult room. 1.5 minutes = $200 of negativity - and running other drs and hospitals down. Would certainly not recommend. You go to these specialists and pay them good money for feedback about your injury and be spoken to with respect - he wouldn't know the meaning of the word.
I was referred by a GP to go see Dr Rimmer and I have to say I have never met a doctor yet that has such appalling bedside manner until I had this appointment. I walked in and was reminded I was 40 yrs old then he asked me what brought me to him and when I told him I have back pain he told me I looked perfectly fine walking into his consulting room. He then started lecturing me about why I haven't done anything about my problem before and I explained I had kids and I have always put there needs first. He then continued to lecture and then reviewed my scans didn't bother to explain the findings and after I told him I was still struggling with my hip pain even after having a nerve block done recently he ignored it and proceeded to have ago and lecture me more. He was extremely rude and arrogant. He then wrote on a envelope a partially retired physios contact details & that was the end. I walked out lost for words and very upset. Would definately not recommend ...read more
absolutely appalling.
Was referred to him by GP In the same medical centre, waited two weeks to get into him it’s a ruptured ligament in my ankle. Walk in he asked my my age and occupation didn’t even look at my scans. Told me I should burn the scans because they are useless and inaccurate. Told me I should see a physiotherapist and I explained that I had a medical form I needed completed by him in order to go back to work and he said sorry go see a GP that’s got nothing to do with me. He was extremity arrogant and rude I actually left crying and I explained I had already seen a GP and he referred me to him! He said it’s my own fault for not having a regular GP and sent me on my way all in under 2 minutes of arriving. Mind you the lady who came out straight after came straight up to me and said she just experinced the same thing.
do not waste your time seeing this doctor
Dr Stephen Rimmer has performed a total knee replacement on my left knee and two arthroscopes on my right knee. He is a consumate professional in which I have absolute faith, a feeling occasioned by the success of the surgeries he has performed for me. His no nonsense communication style I like because I know he is not afraid to tell me the truth about my condition and what is required to correct it. Dr Rimmer is totally immersed in his specific field, and he surrounds himself with similar quality professionals to take care of you in the fields of Anaesthesia, Post Major Operative Recovery and Physiotherapy. He has given me a pain free set of knees, and, if need be, I'll be going back to see him!
Unfortunately I never got to have surgery as the doctor never responded to my request for a medical certificate to claim from my health insurance. I also am disappointed in the rushed consultations the second visit lasted all of 2 minutes but they still charge you the $200 Not recommended. I found someone else that actually cares about his patients and their consultation time.
