Dumpling King
Opened in 1996 and extended in March 2003, Dumpling King has been an Asian Food Festival winner for many years and people travel from all over Melbourne for its Beijing-and-Shanghai-style dumplings, as well as Sichuan tea-leaf chicken, tea-leaf-smoked duck and Peking duck. The dumplings are delicious and seriously juicy so be sure to have your napkin at hand. The service is friendly and helpful and the staff are happy to explain the menu to you.

Dumplings here are good, but for the price they're quite average. So overall, I'd say my experience here was quite average. If you're after a dumpling fix then this place will definitely hit the spot, but if you're after super amazing dumplings then probably not the place. The service is fast and efficient, staff are friendly and the overall atmosphere is standard.
Cheap and tasty. I have eaten many a dumpling in my lifetime, and Dumpling King's offerings are better than your average dumpling. The chicken and prawn, and pork, dumplings are good - whether steamed or fried. I tried the "award winning" four season vegetarian dumplings based on a friend's recommendation - I'm assured that these are good "for vegetarian dumplings" - but vegetarian dumplings are not my cup of tea. Dumpling King's Szechuan dishes, whilst not as zingy as I'm used to for Szechuan, were some of the best I've had in the eastern 'burbs. I'll definitely be back.
