I had been told that this cafe had new owners so I went to check it out.
The coffee was sensational with a good house blend and weekly single origin specials. The Barista knew his job!
The food was also was above normal cafe offerings with good prices.
But if you go there try to sit outside or take earplugs because its one of the noisiest cafes I have ever been in. Constant crashing of crockery and utensils and continual screaming and squealing from staff behind the counter soon spoiled what should have been an exceptional cafe experience.
I would have agreed with you but there have been MAJOR changes. The cafe has been sold to a top chef, Nick Reade, and the food is awesome ... but still at cafe prices! A la carte offerings are still there but better quality and the daily specials take cafe food to a whole new level. Nick was executive chef at a major Melbourne restaurant but he says he wanted to try bringing top-notch food to the local cafe scene.
The coffee is still excellent (Atomica) and the barista, Anita, is dedicated to serving the best brew around ... in qiuet and peaceful surroundings.
