Earth Tribe Forest School

Earth Tribe Forest School is an outdoor education experience, where children visit natural spaces to learn personal, social and technical skills. Through hands-on learning in children develop confidence in themselves and gain a better understanding of their world. Forest school uses the local bushland to build independence and self-esteem in children and young adults.

Topics we cover are broad and including the natural environment, for example the role of trees in society, the complex ecosystem supported by a forest, and recognition of specific plants and animals. However, the personal skills child learn are considered highly valuable, such as teamwork and problem solving. Based on a 40 Acre wellness retreat in Cedar Pocket, We provide a beautiful place in nature where children get the opportunity to experience a "Good Old Fashioned" childhood play.

Taking risks, climbing trees, building cubbies, using hand tools, creating nature crafts, playing in the mud and many, many great activities that bring children in touch with nature.

There are so many elements that tie in with forest school ethos and form a part of our program, including (but not limited to) sustainable living practices, permaculture and growing food, environmental protection and education, and on a much deeper personal level, self development and confidence, mindfulness and a sense of belonging within a community. ...read more
