They might be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
Wish I'd stuck with the big names as I usually do and stayed with a rental company located at the airport. There also ended up being extra charges to pick up the car than what was quoted and a host of issues before being allowed to take the vehicle.
And you need to wait for the minibus to run and shuttle you from the terminals back to their premises which is off site. Won't be back.
We had a very bad experience at this particular business in Sydney. I am afraid to say that I have been put off to try out any other East Coast Rental outlets around Australia based on this experience. I was kept waiting at the Sydney airport for 45mins whilst the staff at East Coast Rentals kept making excuses for their lateness. We were told that the shuttle bus would arrive in 15mins and after numerous calls was told that they will be arriving in another 10mins making our total waiting time in the cold to be 45mins. 5mins before the shuttle arrived, there were other couples coming out of the airport who were also being picked up. We can't help but feel that this rental company waits for an accumulation of patrons to arrive before they would bother to make the 3 minute trip from their office to pick up customers. My experience with East Coast Car Rentals was really good. I did a bit of searching on the web for Sydney car hire and I was first attracted by their car hire rates. I think they probably have the lowest price. What impressed me further was the car I was provided by them - clean and like new! What a bargain! I highly recommend them to all my friends and relatives.
