Very authentic taste and good service. Little bit expensive because serving size not so big

Delicious food and good customer service. Although on a pricey side for Chinese dishes, it worth a visit here for a nice family dinner. My favourite is their salt and pepper squid dish.

East Empress is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. The quality of food is unbelievable. When dining in, the service is incredibly fast. I went with a large group for a banquet and we practically had our own staff waiting on us. When you wanted a drink you just asked and it was brought to the table right away.



The food is quite expensive when dining in (around $20 - 30 for a main) - and ridiculously cheap when taking away (around $12 - 14.) Yet the standard is exactly the same. They offer lunchboxes of a main and rice for $6.90 takeaway on weekdays which is less than what you'd pay for foodcourt Chinese food. It is also incredibly quick, so if you're in a hurry you will not wait long.

This is our "SPECIAL OCCASION" chinese restaurant. The Menu includes an excellent range of traditional and innovative dishes.

One of our favorite dishes is the Macadamia King Prawns. The Peking duck is also a regular choice for us when we dine there.

The place is fully licensed with a good wine list.

Not the cheapest place around but the standard of food and friendly service is out of the ordinary.

This is just fantastic Chinese food and I would rate it as absolutely one of tne best in Melbourne. Well trained staff also add to the experience. The Salt & Pepper Prawns & Squid are the best I have eaten anywhere, and the Clay Pots are superb. Great wine list for a Chinese Restaurant. More on the expensive side than your average local, but this is far from average. Highly recommend.
