Edinburgh Castle

This place is a decent pub in Brunswick. They have a regular pub menu and not too pricey. Large selection of beers on the tap. The fish and chips was tasty and chips were done perfectly. There is a large sized beer garden which is perfect for the summer. It's easily accessible by public transport and located on the hustle and bustle of Sydney Road.

Good choice of beer & the foods ok.

I've been here a couple of times, the first time for a quiz night, and the second time for a breakup meal for my Bible study group. I must admit that I quite like this place, probably because we ended up winning the quiz night that night (which meant my friends ended up going back there to take advantage of the prize, but unfortunately I didn't make it). The pub itself has a pretty large beer garden, that seems to be growing, though we ended up sitting right out the back on what looked like an outdoor stage (and my friends were rather worried that the seat would collapse on them). The food itself was a little pricey, but that didn't matter because they have specials every night (we went on chilli night, which meant I ended up having the Chilli Con Carne). It certainly is a pretty cool pub, though it does get a little crowded.

A great range of beers available on tap or by the bottle. Micro brewers get a good show in at the EC as I'm told its colloquially known. Also as I'm told they do great pub grub & even have a laneway market on weekends. So you can probably tell I've only really sunk some beers at the EC but nonetheless I can tell you that the EC has retained its charm. Too often, many pubs have become corporatised, sanitised but the EC stays true to its roots - a pub for the punters, with many benefits to boot. Its a winner!
