Egmont provides fully self-contained accommodation in an old historic home at Westbury, northern Tasmania. The property overlooks the Meander River and majestic Great Western Tiers mountain range.There are two ground floor bedrooms and two attic bedrooms. The ground floor is appointed with one twin and one double room with open fires and the upstairs rooms are both twin rooms. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining and sitting rooms and two bathrooms. There is a garage attached to the house.In 1838 a settler family arrived in Westbury and built Egmont. It was their home for many generations and their furniture is still there. Memorabilia in the house represents milestones in the making of a new life in a new country. Sit by the crackling fire as the settlers once sat. After a hearty breakfast, from provisions in the modern kitchen, wander around Westbury and soak up the decades of history and the tranquillity of the town.
