El Gran Cafe Melbourne

Stopped in on our holiday. Really friendly staff, great coffee.

I stumbled upon this place purely by chance and must say it was a great surpise! I had never tasted South American food (unless you count Mexican, which is really Central America) There is a great variety of dishes and it's probably best in a large group (like Yum Cha) where you can share and taste. So many interesting things to choose from, I can't wait to go back. I cant compare it to anything as I've never tried South American food before but it was good overall and service was great.

Going into EL GRAN CAF today, I was greeted warmly by the staff. The atmosphere was cosy and delightful with the rich aroma of coffee filling the air. On first look, this looked like any other cafe with a display filled with an assortment of foccacias, pastries and cakes.
