El Sol Mexican

We booked a table on a saturday night from 6-730pm. the food was standard but the service was very poor. at 655pm the wait staff said " i'm going to ask you to leave soon, the customer over there have booked a table and they have arrived early. so can you finish up? " we stated that we have book the table till 730. staff then replied in a rude manner, " well you have to leave, it's not my fault they came early!" staff then said we could go to the bar but not finish our food in which we were still eating

Would give minus (-) stars if i could! Terrible!!!!! It says that it is BYO ($2) corkage.. Definafely not the case!!! This was one of the main reasons we went there, and then to be told by the extrelmy rude wait staff.. 'Maybe you were here last year, it was different then'.. Yes we were, we were there in March and we had BYO then! Thats why we came here again - it was very reasonable then. Then tells us 'there are cheap wines on the menu, maybe you could choose them.' are they kidding! The staff were not accommodating at all. For a place that we would visit on a regular basis this was disgusting! No one could hear each other and it was far too noisy, so what does the restaurant do, put the music up! No one wants to hear it!!! My father ordered a main which came out a good 20 minutes before any mains and then my husband ordered an entree and a main and both came out at least 20 minutes after the rest of the mains - because 'they forgot his order, sorry' This place ...read more

I enjoy having a casual dinner with friends at el sol. The sangria is sweet just how i like it and my favourite is the fajitas! Its not the same as it is served in Mexico but still pretty tasty and the setting does remind me of cabo San lucas Mexico. There seem to be many mexican places now in cronulla but i still think el sol is one of the better.

Terrible! All you can eat is a disgrace. If you want all you can eat, go eat at sizzler. At least sizzler is 1.5 stars haha

Half star for the atmosphere. It wasn't great..went there Saturday night, my friends enchilada had developed a second skin smothered by what looked like plastercene as cheese. The cheese dip entre also had a hard skin from sitting too long. My friend told the waitress of the matter and she said it was like that because they had to wait for my dish to be cooked...what the? the atmosphere was good, nice music but the pictures on the wall and there were lots of them of bullfighters...Mexican or Spanish restaurant???? Overall I thought the food was not great, and it certainly wasn't value for money in my opinion? It was very expensive for what it was. Wouldn't come back in a hurry.....sorry
