We are connected to two bottles of ELGAS for cooking, so we opened an account with ELGAS ten days ago. After 1 week a small size driver arrived with full bottles of gas, but said he cannot deliver becuase the side door that he has to enter the bottles has some stairs and that they will refund our money. We called the customer service and asked WHYYY we are connected to ELGAS bottles, but the new driver cant??? she said its because their normal driver is on leave for the next 3 months!!! We said that we can take the bottle downstairs and the CS lady said that she will contact the driver for a re-delivery and that she will contact us. Today we rang to follow up and were advised that our account has been closed!!!! Worst ever company to deal with in Australia. They dont even ask you the questions if the delivery site has stairs or if they can deliver, but they sign you up!!
Customer service on most recent call was appalling. I called yesterday as discounts were not applied to my 1st 5 orders. Was told by customer service that prices charged were correct as gas prices fluctuate. She did not investigate the issue and was quite rude. It's called Customer Service not Customer rudeness. Certain job roles require a certain temperament, one that this person may consider changing.
On a side note - the call I made yesterday was a pleasant experience and my issue was being looked into.
I would not recommend using this Company as your LPG supplier - I held an account with them for less than 30 days. I swapped to Elgas after poor customer service from Origin. When they delivered the 1st Bottle they advised I had a gas leak & the blocked my gas supply. I urgently paid for a Professional Gas fitter to come up to look for the leak. No leak was found. The Fitter issued a Compliance Certificate, which I sent to Elgas. Their fitter returned I believe to check the site again. He cut my gas supply again and advised there was still a leak. I again got another gas fitter out (from the some company Fallon’s Solutions who I would recommend) & again after doing many checks they did not find a leak. Would not recommend this company at all. Have been with them for the last 5 years, and they have been nothing but trouble!! Have only just disconnected (they couldnt even do that in 1 phone call, has taken 3 so far, 2 weeks and they still have not collected gas bottle) and they are still causing me grief. Unreliable, terrible customer service, bills are always wrong and they need at least 6 follow up calls to correct *if corrected at all*. Tried both the delivery service and and refill service, TERRIBLE. I have never had such trouble with any other utility provider EVER. Elgas are TERRIBLE!!!
ELGAS thinks only of their convenience and is not considerate of their customer's predicament. This company think of their clients as nothing and they are the king who will dictate the day of the delivery but won't be open to any negotiation as for the time or even the part of the day they will come to you.
Delivery to our place was advised on the night before and was required that someone from the household be at home the whole day just to wait for them or else it is another 2 weeks wait. The gas bottle is located at the back of our unit and can only be accessed through a door that must always be locked because of security reasons, Elgas is not willing to give an ear to work out our schedules, so that my earning will not be affected and me and my kids (the un-valued customer) will not be inconvenienced for another forthnight.
I will drop Elgas and look for a customer friendly gas company.
