Emerson's Cafe and Restaurant
So Disappointing! For my birthday we booked dinner online & then after not hearing back called them up. They said the Manager looks after the bookings but it was not recorded so added our booking. On the Friday afternoon we arrived in Lovedale & went to visit the lovely Robyn at Adina at Adina Cellar door. We saw a sign on Emersons door saying that they were closed over the Lovedale Long Lunch weekend & thought surely that does not mean tonight as we knew we had a booking! To our shock Robyn said she did not think Emersons would be opening! On the way past we saw that the door was ajar so called out & someone from the kitchen came out & looked in the booking book. Our booking was there but had been crossed out & he said that someone was supposed to call people to let them know. No calls, messages or email were received. If we had not happened to be at Adina in the afternoon we would have turned up to a dark empty restaurant on my birthday!
A small restaurant with indoor seating and outdoor verandah seating overlooking the vineyards. The restaurant have a greenhouse feel theme... The servers are friendly and the menu has a nice selection of food, pretty much a different type of meat for the mains - a pork, beef, fish, lamb, vegetarian ($39) and entrees ($23).
I had the scallops for entree and it was so delicious. 3 perfectly cooked scallops with a curry inspired flavour with beautifully arranged vegetables and flowers. The sirloin is two slices of perfectly cooked beef with a potato gratin and very flavorsome pea mash. A beautiful meal and would recommend it for a nice dinner in the hunter region.
