I shouldn't like this place so much but I do. There is a big range of Chinese style breads, sweets & western & Asian style cakes by the slice or whole. I love the po lo bun especially the one with coconut. The custard bun is also good with generous filling and a slightly sweet exterior. The mala cake/bread is sweet and so soft. The cakes by the slice are such good value ranging between $2.20 to $2.90 a slice. It has an Asian spin to it so its not overly rich or sweet. I like the coffee cake & matcha red bean cake. Hard not to buy too much when I am here!
This bakery is located next door to the Emperor Puffs where is there is an endless queue of people. It was late at night and there was not a great choice of items left but my cousin wanted to get some buns to take home as she doesn't have this much selection back at home. She bought a packet of Chicken Buns as well as some fresh BBQ Pork Buns. The buns were a nice late night treat and are always tasty.
As indicated by the long lines, the cream puffs are super cheap and absolutely divine. The bakery itself is alright. I bought a custard bun, my absolute favorite, and was quite disappointed. The filling wasn't at a custard cream consistency making the snack a bit of a downer. Would definitely recommend trying the desserts here, but make sure to always get a side of cream puffs.
