The high prices do not equate to better quality and durability than cheaper alternatives.
The cupboards on my Empire credenza jam and squeak loudly with normal use. I can't even adjust the hinges because most of the screws are worn out by the time the thing is installed. Futhermore the chipboard holes and surrounding laminate quickly deteriorate leaving big gaping holes that do not hold the screws.
The L-shaped desk has almost completely fallen apart and will now function only without the extension. You'd be better off going somewhere cheaper and getting furniture that you only need a couple of years use from. These pieces are ready for the tip!
I’m quite surprised by some of the negative reviews here for Empire. I have been a customer for over ten years and have always had a great experience. Empire have just completed a 40 person workstation fit out for me. All handled perfectly from start to finish. Empire sell quality commercial products. They honour their warranties and have great after sales service. Highly recommend.
I never write reviews, but my experience with Empire was so disappointing and infuriating (and continues to be almost 12 months after my purchase) I feel it necessary to pass on my experience.
I ordered 10 “Play Sled Chairs” (5 x blue, 5 x green) ($169.00 each), and two desks for my education business in Kogarah. When I made the order, I told the service staff the desks could wait, but chairs were absolutely crucial, and that I needed them immediately (like last week) and that I would only make the purchase if the chairs could be provided in the immediate future. Whilst Empire have been good in the past they appear to have a real problem at the moment on delivering what they promise. We ordered and paid in June for a new office fitout to be installed in early July. We ordered and paid early to secure the stock and have every ready to go. It is now September and we are still waiting on two filing cabinets and the latest update is that hopefully these will be delivered at the end of the month.
I felt that I had a wonderful experience with the staff here that felt personal and honest. They were able to recommend good options for our small office and competitive prices. Delivery was prompt as planned and when we had a small issue with one of the chairs they were very quick to remedy the problem and deliver a new chair. All in all I felt it was a very positive experience and I will shop there again when we need stock in the future.
