Epocha

They have a Victorian terrace setting which gave a warm European feeling. We ordered their long shared plates which was a pricey but it tasted wholesome. Customer service was great from the moment we walked into the restaurant.

This place is just amazing. Beautifully-located and with fantastic food, Epocha is a gem of Carlton. It's perfect if mod-Italian is your thing . For my boy friend's 30th dinner we had fresh oysters (Coffin Bay), slow roasted shoulder of lamb with peperonata and salsa verde, slow cooked Greenvale pork jowl with toasted spelt, quince and fennel, and their authentic desserts. The pork was crispy but a bit fatty. And the lamb just melted in my mouth! The dining room is vintage-chic and has a cosy atmosphere.

Traditional Italian cuisine full of rich hearty flavours set in a charming cosy setting. It would be great if they could offer more vegetarian dishes as the menu is very heavy on meat dishes and change the name to reflect Italian spelling- Epoca or just Epoch in English! Some nice snack dishes to share include the swordfish and baby octopus. Check out the Tuesday to Thursday special of 2 courses for $20! There is a separate bar area if you just want cocktails.
