Jane OBrien is a specialist breast surgeon whose practice is exclusively confined to breast diseases.She has extensive training and experience in the assesment, diagnosis and management of all benign and maligmant breast conditions.In 2005 she established the Epworth Breast Service, a private specialist facility providing rapid-access, integrated, patient-centred breast cancer care, delivered by a multidisciplinary team including a full-time breast care nurse with onsite access to all diagnostic and treatment modalities including breast MRI, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Jane OBrien has interests in breast reconstruction, sentinel node biopsy, familial breast cancer, including breast cancer in yoiunger women and risk reduction surgery and the organisation and delivery of multidisciplinary breast cancer care. Her main area of special interest and expertise is in oncoplastic breast cancer surgery, a relatively new subspecialty aimed at maximising cosmetic results following breast conservation surgery for breast cancer using advanced surgical techniques.
