Eros Ouzeri
There's linen even on pavement tables, which sets a classy tone. The interior of the main Eros room has a faded grandeur; a small funky bar stacked with bottles, low lighting, ornate ceiling, the walls muted, not quite distressed. The staff is casual but attentive. With a Greek focus, there are entrees such as fried kalamari tiganito, whitebait and pan-cooked kefalograviera cheese. The regular menu fulfils Aegean expectations with dips, mezes, moussakas and the like. The specials may include a quince-glazed Mildura duck breast with confit of duck leg, saffron, fennel and orange ferron risotto.
Thought we would have a special dinner and celebrate turned up to Eros this evening ... It wasn't too busy we got a table straight away. The wait staff gave us our menus and walked off no offer of a drink , no discussion about the menu or even a welcome . We decided what we wanted and 15min had passed . We watched the wait staff walking around in a dream . I signalled to one but they looked the other way as I looked them in the eye , another 5min and we couldn't take it anymore we walked out ... Even then we were invisible. ! What chaos and such a bad experience
Made a on-line booking for new years dinner for myself and partner a week prior to the day of the booking, then they rang me on the day of the booking to tell me they were already fully booked WTF!!! will never go to Eros again!!! When they rang they didn't care they had stuffed me around at all and were actually rude over the phone.
On a busy Friday night we were lucky to get a table, particularly as there was a very large group there. Despite this the service was excellent - we did not wait for anything, including the food. Great wine list, there were some good value gems on there. Disappointingly the menu lacked interest. Usually we spend ages poring over the menu trying to decide what to have because it all looks good however, on thus occasion, it was because nothing was taking our interest. Having said that when the loukanika and haloumi arrived they were generous and tasty as were the lamb skewers.
