Ester Restaurant and Bar
46-52 Meagher St
Chippendale, NSW, 2008
Still a great restaurant. Popped in for a fifth visit on Wednesday night, restaurant had every table and bar seat full. Blood sausage sanga still as good as the first time. Also tried an amazing fermented potato bread with salmon roe, yabbies with a sauce that reminded me of Singapore chilli crab, and a cos lettuce salad which had me cooing over a great coriander oil dressing. Wine list produced an interesting Marsanne for under $75. Would happily dine again.
I really enjoyed my dining experience here. The restaurant itself feels very homey and fresh but pretty understated and neutral with some hanging pendant lights to add that modern touch. It was good because all you really need here is the food, bells and whistles aren't necessary. We did the set menu which was SO much food but it was all full of interesting taste combinations and all of the meat dishes were cooked to perfection. It was nicely priced too for a set menu.
