Being from Melbourne usually attractions near where we live are the last ones to visit. This time with Father some friends visiting from overseas so we decided to give it a try and do the local attractions. The lift to go up to the Skydeck was extremely quick, however it didn't really feel like it, it was smoother than I thought it would be.Being Melbourne you never know what view you are going to get, and of course, we went up and after 5 minutes we could see the clouds coming, then very heavy rain and the visibility was almost nothing. We had to wait for a little while until everything was clear again and we could enjoy the view of the city again. I would recommend going with enough time just in case it happens to you, or even better check the forecast in advance to make the most out of it.
Being from Melbourne, I was never interested in really going here as I had been up the Rialto Sky Deck already. But I had visitors from outside of Australia come and I ended up taking them here. As soon as the elevator door opened on the sky deck floor, my jaw opened in amazement. The view up here was far better than that of the Rialto's, you get a full 360 view of Melbourne from a better angle too. Throughout the floor there are little telescopes pointing out the main tourist attractions of Melbourne, well it's not actually a telescope, more so a scope that just simply points you into the right direction. There is an additional price to go out to the glass room that has a glass floor that protrudes from the building. Otherwise you can still go out to the balcony for free, but be mindful it's very windy.
Fabulous 360 views of Melbourne available from the Skydeck on the 88th floor. Day and night visits available. The Edge experience can get booked out so if you're keen on that, you may need to book in. Only takes an hour to go through. Gift shop and takeaway available at the top. Great to see when there's games on and the flames go off in front of Crown at night too.
Came here to the Eureka Skydeck with the family and the kids enjoyed it very much, they were quite excited too about the Elevator watching the floor numbers go up and up and up! Would like to come here during the day next time and do 'The Edge' Experience as well. Must do when in Melbourne.
