Evelyn Hotel

I've been to this place a few times, but then again it does happen to be Brunswick Street's grunge pub. Well, I probably should suggest that it is more of a bar considering that it isn't all that large, but then again it does happen to have a band room, and also a bottle shop attached to it. While I haven't been into the band room, its existance does indicate that this place is also one of Melbourne's many live music venues. One thing that I have noticed is that it does get pretty packed, well, most of time time, which means that finding a seat can be a challenge. Still, it does have a pretty good atmosphere, and I do come back here every so often.

The Evelyn is the last bastion of live pub music with a great variety of truly independent music! There was a fantastic band called Riders of Sin with a psychedelic 60s sound. A great place for a drink or two with friends and to support local artists!

This would have to be one of the last live band pubs on brunswick st and is still going strong with many people every weekend. So for a good night out in fitzroy it is a MUST.
