This cinema offers $9 tickets for every film, every day, so while it doesn't offer the most updated decor, or the snazziest seating, it's conveniently located and a great place to see a film. There are plenty of cafes on the same block for a quick bite to eat before seeing a film.
Greater Union doesn't have the latest screens, sound or seating, so if all you care about is being blasted into the back of your chair by explosions on the screen, you should probably head somewhere else.
But then, you're paying almost twice as much to see a movie. Greater Union has every session for $9, as well as a very reasonably priced concession stand, so a night at the flicks won't require you to sell a kidney. With a nearly old-fashioned decor and cinema layout, GU has personality and charm. It also combines the latest Hollywood releases with a nice smattering of independent movies in a very handy location with cafes, restaurants and bars a Jaffa-roll away. Tickets please!
