We needed a quick meal before a movie and thought a yiros would do the trip. They definitely were quick. We ordered a combination yiros and a felafel roll with tabouli on both. When unwrapped neither was rolled very tightly which made eating it a particularly messy experience. However, the reason neither was rolled was due to the sheer volume of filling. Neither really screamed flavour - particularly the yiros which was disappointing. Even the garlic sauce wasn't really garlicky and the meat didn't taste like it had been marinated. So we walked away full but not particularly fulfilled.
We carefully and consistently give The Falafel House a 100% rating for its carefully, expertly prepared HEALTHY Lebanese quisine. Some customers from out-of-state say that F.H. is one of their main reasons for returning to visit Adelaide. Special mention must be given the Falafel balls themselves, which are a magic mix of traditional Middle Eastern spices, broad beans, etc. and fried in 100% Vegetable Oil. Also the F.H. Tabouli is probably the BEST we've tried and the F.H. Spicy Beans (Black-Eyed Beans) and Onion and Lentils far exceed any supermarket variety or that of other cafes we've tried. Bread is usually obtained from the Lebanese Bakery in Adelaide. The atmosphere is CASUAL and comfortable, especially in the day-time. Plenty padded, cushioned seats, and appropriate tables are in abundance for most any group 2-20 folks. However, be careful at night : Hindley Street is Adelaide's Sin Street.
