Family Pet and Aquarium is the best pet shop in Geelong by far!!!
The Staff are very friendly and are knowledgeable unlike other pet shops in town.
Their advice is spot on and you can really tell they love their animals, as can be seen by the care they provide.
All my animal products and pet food is now purchased at Family pet and aquarium because I know I can rely on their honest and trustworthy advice.
Great Pet Shop,staff are very helpful,always have lots of animals to buy and look at,lost of accessories such as light globes for pets such as lizards and cages,tanks etc.
everything yo could ever need is in this pet shops,right down to budgies and seed, rat/mouse cages and more!
this pet store needs a serious going over by someone in animal welfare, Its a mess and completely gross....The birds are right next to the cats, the cats were sticking there hands through trying to get the birds....the puppies are in cardboard boxes on the floor, in there own feaces....the axolotls were in a 2 foot tank and im sure i count more than 12 in there....NOT even 3 should be in that small area...the day i went in they had a guinea pig in the fish room....which is very warm....when i askd why they said the guinea pig was sick so they sepertated it....IT WILL DIE IN THE HEAT. The love birds were in a tiny cage and the small animals smelt soo bad...i work and pet shop and was horrified to walk into a place like this...The "pug" puppies were actully a pug cross beagle...this is why so many people think they have pure breed dogs and dont.....SOMEONE needs to take and good hard look at this store...
Well Darce_Gaz - I am the owner of the Pet shop so my response. Our staff are great and yes it is an old building but the staff work really hard to keep it clean and do really well . Yes the kittens are near the birds because we keep our animals in large and comfortable enclosures which the kittens are. No kitten has ever got a bird and would not - mute point. Puppies are in cardboard boxes as its more hygenic to dispose a dirty box than cleaning any other form of bedding. "in their own feces" oh really. So the thousands of compliments we get (several times a week) from people about our puppies are wrong and you are right, eh. The piggie is in the perfect temperature to get well but you wouldn't know that. Pug/Beagles were advertised exactly as that. You work at a pet shop and have no basic animal knowledge..sad isnt it. Obviously things are quiet in your shop. We will stand on our 13 years of business, thank god for the animals.
Excuse me Darce_gaz, this place is very clean, animals well looked after and is big enclosures not small, staff are amazing and if you ask anyone they will back me up in this this place is the best aquarium in Geelong along with the staff and their knowledge of fish, bird's, cat's, dog's etc .
