Farmhouse Industries is definitely worth diverting off the highway for. It's chock full of lovely homemade items, which are nowdays very hard to find. I bought a beautiful beanie, made from handspun wool from a black sheep. There was a lot to choose from, I was very tempted: lovely fruit cakes, jams, soft toys, quilts, picnic blankets, etc. Everything in the shop is made by people who live in the area, and the shop is staffed by volunteers. I can't wait to go back.
I was travelling on the Hume Highway on my way home and I decided to take a pit stop at Tarcutta, a little town 1/2 way between Melbourne and Sydney. I went into the craft store "Farmhouse Industries" and found beautiful examples of arts and crafts, including a wide range of home made jams, relishes and pickles. There was also some cakes etc. I bought some blackberry jam and some tomato relish and when I got it home, they did not last long. Next time I drive on the Hume Highway I am definitely dropping in again and loading up the car. YUM!
