Friendly service with a great range of fitness classes available. They also have a creche which is perfect for Mums who want to work out.

The services are absolutely horrendous. Join any gym but this one. They take automatic payments that have nothing to do with your membership at all.

I found fernwood fitness to be very secretive about their expenses from the get go. They will bring you in to look at the gym and then try to get you to sign up at an exorbitant expense (my membership was $41.40 with a "15%" discount). They will also charge you sign up fees around $150 which is non-refundable. Further to this, when you sign up they will show you a list of payments and imply this is the end date of your contract. It's not! They will continue to charge you past this end date and when you attempt to cancel they make it extremely difficult. After I had realised I was still being charged I called to cancel and they expect you to come in and sign documents. I said ok, I'll come in today as it was the day before yet another direct debit to the gym. Of course that wasn't possible, not only do you have to go into the gym and can't cancel over the phone you have to make an appointment, which will conveniently be after they've yet again charged you. TERRIBLE management! Will squeeze every cent possible out of you! Great facilities though, so it's a shame management are so money driven!
