Fine Food Store
What a great place to meet, both for business and pleasure! Situated in a side street in The Rocks, if I hadn't been told about this place, I certainly would have had trouble stumbling across it. Rather busy compared to the other local cafes in the same area for a early week day morning - always a good sign. Friendly staff, great herbal tea (apparently the coffee is fantastic too!) - only shortfall is the toilets located upstairs in a public space and I found the music a little too loud to listen carefully to my guests. Overall, great little spot.
I was initially drawn here by some reviews that mentioned Fine Food Store served the best coffee in Sydney. Being a proud (& biased) Melbournian, the fear of bad coffee elsewhere & the lure of good coffee here drew me here tout sweet! I came for the coffee but I stayed for the food! Yum. They have a fairly simple breakfast menu, same too for lunch, in fact, some of the options crossed over into both. Despite the simplicity, or perhaps because of it, this diner was impressed. I had a sausage & cheese pannini...well there was something special about the sausage & the cheese but I've forgotten since, regardless, it was scrummy. If you want a good caffeine hit accompanied by good food, look no further than the fine food store...in fact, the nam nails it...it it were fine food & good coffee store!
