I came here with my work, and we hired out the upstairs area. There isnt really much of a view or much dcor to the place, but I guess you really are here for the food.
The food was fantastic. For an entre, we had a mixed seafood platter of oysters, the prawn tempura, skewers and the salt and pepper calamari. I thought the skewers were absolutely delicious.
For the main, I had the Mulloway fillet grilled with saut pumpkin, green lentils and spinach, harissa yogurt sauce. This was quite a filling meal, and I was stuffed after this yet still had the cheesecake for dessert which was as good as the first two meals. Even the bread at the start was warm but really soft.
Definitely recommend anyone looking for some nice seafood to check this place out. Price wise, it isnt cheap, but I wouldnt say its overly expensive either (although work did pay for the meal.)
I used to live down the road and ended up going once or twice a week for the excellent fish and chips. The posher fish dishes are also very good - my recommendation is the barramundi with red curry stuffing. BYO keeps the overall price down although it is not cheap. Also, if you are easily annoyed by wealthy American tourists you may want to avoid - proximity to the Observatory Hotel ensures a steady flow of septics. I've been back a few times over the last year or two and the service is still close to faultless. After you've drunk your wine and scoffed your fish, head over the road to the Lord Nelson for home brewed ales. Life is good in this part of the Rocks
