Fishermen's Pier
Yarra St
Geelong, VIC, 3220
Went to Fishermens pier last night with friends. Bit reluctant after the previous review about change of ownership & everything had changed but I was pleasantly surprised. On leaving I asked a guy, who was in the bar who the manager was & he said he was a part owner. I could see by his expression that oh no is she going to complain, but I just wanted to tell him that my waiter (Zaneta) did a wonderful job. Waters & drinks were constantly topped up & the seafood was superb. The owner did say when they took over that chefs were pulling the restaurant in a different direction & he was concerned. He said we finally got a head chef (Daniel) who has brought a bigger range of seafood back to the menu.Well done guys you have got the place back on its feet
A Geelong icon, Fisho's has been around for what seems an eternity.
Always known for its wonderfully fresh fare, it's exciting specials and amazing staff that remember you each time you visit.
Alas, this is not the case anymore due to new management.
With what seems like a complete overhaul, ranging from menu pricing, decor and our much loved and familiar staff, we were left wondering where our old 'fisho's' went.
The food was extremely mediocre, the staff inexperienced and the bill way too pricey!
After almost 20yrs of custom and loyalty, I won't be back.
When a good thing works, don't change it!
If you are a fan of seafood, then you will not be disappointed with the menu at the Fishermen's Pier Waterfront Restaurant. The meals are a little pricey, but the sizes of the meals are very generous and the wait staff are very friendly and professional. This restaurant offers a beautiful view.
Once considered Geelong's top restaurant, Fishy's is in a wonderful location on the waterfront and has top service. The waiters always seem to remember return customers and make you feel extra welcome. The food is good although not sensational, a little pricey but it's worth it for the view. Furnishing is polished timber and can feel a little sparse if the restaurant is not crowded. Parking is a problem during the day as it's metered and the City of Geelong parking police are notoriously quick to issue tickets.
