Fishing Haven Caravan Park

This park is advertised as "pet friendly" both on their website and on the signage leading into the park. When I initially emailed the park, I was specifically looking for a cabin that was pet friendly as my partner and I were coming down from Brisbane to visit the area with our golden retriever and catch up with friends. I was told that all cabins have "a verandah area that has an outdoor setting and shelter for your pup". When I phoned for further details, I was told that the verandahs were gated. My partner and I were rather disappointed when we arrived to find that the verandah was in fact not gated and that only one of the other cabins (which was booked) had a gate. Furthermore, a list of rules were posted inside the cabin that stated that dogs are not to be left unattended. So while pets may be allowed in the park, it is certainly not "pet friendly" if they must be constantly chained to a pole without any secure enclosure for them to be left alone for a while.
