Fitness First
Walker Street Fitness First does tick all the boxes (good variety of machines, ample stretching area, nicely fitted change rooms, good timetable e.t.c) but it is a funny pokey space. It is spread across three levels with rooms around corners filled with extra things. You have to have a good explore to make sure you don't miss anything!! I think, compared to the newer custom built Fitness First gyms you really feel its-make-do approach. I also think the ladies toilets are original (or at least not renovated when the change rooms and showers were upgraded to the usual Fitness First standard).
Group fitness studio is average... Decent sized but there are two poles obstructing vision of the stage. With about 20 participants it's fine but you wouldn't want to get too many more!!
As suggested by previous reviewers, service is friendly.
Though I agree with fellow reviewer Melvyn totally - on every aspect mentioned.. I'll also add it's spacious and has plenty of equipment. It's just that North Sydney Fitness First is "old" lots of the equipment is old and well used, and it kid of smells. Also as you can imagine after work hours (5:30pm) it gets absolutely packed. This doesn't mean the staff aren't friendly or don't try. Just that it's location and age, makes it just an okay gym rather than great. Oh and parking is metered all around the area.
