Fitzroy North Licensed Post Office

This place is a circus! Would only ever visit this post office for entertainment value. Staff are rude and unprofessional. The entire operation is disorganised. When sending a package you're never quite sure if it will get to the destination. Don't even try to collect a package; 9 times out of 10 it will be lost somewhere behind the counter.

I go here on a regular basis and love the service I get here. It's family owned, and the son is really switched on and thorough...keeps an eye on everything. He's like a wizard. He runs the place and makes sure everything runs well and that customers are happy. Always respectful and polite.

In 2013 my daughter and I received exceptional help from Jimmy at Fitzroy North, Vic post office, helping us to ship parcels back home.. We are now back home in Washington State, USA. I mailed a parcel to my cousin in Fitzroy, insured and registered. When I did not get an email confirmation for 2 weeks I phoned Jimmy at Fitzroy North post office. He took the time and his expertise to trace my parcel to customs and told me it would be delivered before Christmas. It was delivered yesterday. This is unbelievable service. My sincere appreciation and thanks to Jimmy at Fitzroy North post office in Victoria, Australia.

This is by far the worst Post Office I have ever had to deal with, incompetent, rude management and staff. I have been in there numerous times and have not once had a good experience. Have been abused for not picking up parcels sooner, have not been able to pick up parcels because they've 'mis-placed' them, also my fault according to them. Wish some-one would buy them out so I and many others wouldn't have to dread the trip to the post office! If there was a choice to give no stars that's what they'd be getting!!!

I made a recent complaint about the behaviour of the staff who pretend to run Fitzroy North Post Office, and would you believe, someone from Brisbane wrote to me here in Melbourne stating that the behaviour was a one-off and not likely to occur again! Let me tell you, it is a daily occurrence, and has been since these people bought the business over 6 years ago. I complained because the staff was aggressively rude to me (as usual), and when I objected to their obnoxious antics the other staff had the gall to yell at me! At my next visit to an almost empty P.O. at 4.40 pm, in discussing the incident with a different person I said that the place should be chockers at that hour: and it wasn\'t, due to the other staffâ??s' RUDENESS. This other person took revenge on me for complaining the next (and last) time I went there by deliberately being very aggressive towards me, refusing to help me and ignoring me when I went up to the counter.
