Care more about profits than animal welfare. Refused to sell a simple $30 medication refill without me first booking a $60+ consultation (and in doing so putting my pet through the stress of an unnecessary vet visit), despite the fact I had a recent letter from another vet explaining my pet's condition. Staff were arrogant and unhelpful.
We can appreciate how concerned you are for your pet's health. However, at Fitzroy Veterinary Clinic the staff take seriously the total well being of an animal. We have a policy of not dispensing drugs without first examining the animal to ascertain what are the main health problems in order to dispense the appropriate medication.
As Practice Manager I am sure my team upheld the high standards of this clinic. However, I am happy to personally discuss your concerns.

This strip of shops on Scotchmer St is great for pet lovers as Fitzroy Veterinary Hospital is right next to Pet Art. Fitzroy Veterinary Hospital is well regarded and I was recommended to come here by a friend as Ive just moved to the area. I took my poodle here for a check-up and her annual vaccination with no hassels. The vet was friendly and easy going. I dont have any issues with this place despite the previous reviews.

I went to clinic because local.. I was talked on to pet care program of 425. And with a 190 deposit I agreed to have rest debt from account every 4 weeks at around. 25 a month : the form came back to sign it said 190 every 4 weeks. I queried and was looked at with annoyance no that is just the first payment:: I said can I have a piece paper stating future payments I was met again with two people we can not do that but it's around 25: still not reassured I said but the 190 says every 4 weeks no two vet nurses at me it won't be that's just down payment... I then said can I have a paper states the actual they said not to worry.. Well I hate giving out my bank details to begin with and two people looking annoyed every time I questioned I just walked out door. But two weeks down track received a letter from debit company stating 190. Will be debt each month from next month. I was annoyed I rang credit company they threatened legal action.. What fixed up problem was canceling dog plan staying away from debit companies and breaking free from this vet.. I'm searching for a new vet.. It's worth to travel further to get respect I deserve my personal details should be dealt with professionally and knowledgable not they be right because it was not .
I realised it they double billed me for micro chip.. Sorting out this business had been stressful talking to creditors and them no apology and money owed just today was told not welcome to come and collect it because apparently I rude.. Well on would you not be saying you over charged me they respond our computer says no you paid once.. Then I searching at home got proof. :: I new something not right with debit so I called up there debt people asked them to realise its over 3 thousand a year I say I'm not paying that they say we get legal action.. So I had to get it sorted out through vet whom kept saying mistake on pet product not our end I said no yours ;; constant mess.. In end I not welcome to collect money owed to me..

The Pet Essentials Program has a once off upfront payment of $190 with eleven monthly payments of $27. At your request, we have since promptly cancelled your participation in the program and organised reimbursement of outstanding monies.

I wasn't sure about what was happening with my very old retriever and again the team at Fitzroy were able to give me some useful advice, she is now fully clipped and wearing a DAP collar and she is much happier and fretting less, she has stopped chewing at her paws and is just so much better, and coping with the horrible summer heat. Thanks you are the best
I am so grateful to all of the veterinary, nursing and cattery team at Fitzroy Veterinary Clinic for their wonderful care of my two high maintenance geriatric cats during the last 3 years. The vets provide detailed advice on diagnosis and treatment options and a nurse phones me for feedback on my cats progress after a consultation. And the cattery is a home away from home staff are so friendly and helpful.
When my elder cat was put to sleep recently, he and I were treated with dignity, respect and empathy. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at this clinic and am thankful that my surviving cat continues to benefit from their dedication. A sincere thank-you to everyone!
