We visited the Flying Fish at The Star and it is amazing . We love seafood and eat out often but I had never tried WA marron. I spoke to the chef Ricky and he could not have been more helpful .He suggested how to have it even gave me extra sauces to try with it, such wonderful customer service. We also had the tortelli (to die for!!) and the grouper ( fantastic) .All the staff were lovely. Ricky the chef and the food worth 5 stars we will be back.
I can't fault the whole experience of a meal at Flying Fish, it's what I would call destination dining. Don't expect a slap dash meal, this is a proper sit down meal, with the main focus on fresh ingredients and stunning presentation, matched with superb wines. Very polished service and generous servings, and what a view ! Love the industrial vibe of the renovated wharf. Perfect for a big birthday celebration or to treat overseas guests. Superb.
Food and service were good, oysters were amazing! But we were there to celebrate a 70th, we brought our own cake and were told it would be $10 per person cakage which added up to $100, which is ridiculous. When we explained we were not happy they brought the cake out with a candle and said we would have to put it back in box and take it home. So we all missed out on cake as we were all going in different directions and therefore the cake was also a waste and birthday celebrations ruined. Considering the bill was $650 you'd think they would waive that!
A bit disappointed with our lunch visit last weekend. We were taken upstairs where there is no view and it was very hot upstairs and we were crammed in tightly next to another table of 4 people. Food was okay but certainly over priced. Service was just average. Would not recommend and would not go back.
I have no words. I absolutely loved my experience there last night. I had the seafood degustation and the flavours and produce they used was so fresh and full of flavour. Waiter Samuel was so friendly and it was so personal when the Chefs came out delivering their dishes to the table. Sommelier Paolo did an amazing job pairing the wines to each dish perfectly and he was so knowledgeable with each wine. The photos speak for themselves. I enjoyed everything.
