First time coming here, never again! I called up and asked if they had a specific book that i was after and they're exact words were 'yes we have it in stock'. I then told them no worries and i was travelling from the other side of brisbane so should be there in 40 mins to an hour or so to collect. Once i got there, i stood at the counter for about three minutes watching two staff members talking about tea in the backroom whilse i was standing there? They eventually came over, I told them that i was wanting to collect the book i had previously called about. They then look at me and say 'sorry we do stock it but we don't keep copies in the store??' I dont know if im over-reacting but why couldn't they have told me so on the phone ? Obviously some miscommunication but still fuming, biggest waste of time.
Folio is fantastic. You cannot walk into this bookstore without finding at least 5 books you want to buy. The staff are top notch - they really know their stuff. If they don't have a book you're after, they will easily be able to tell you another book that might fit your needs. Their online store is pretty good too.
Welcoming positive atmosphere in the store, with staff there to assist but also happy to let you browse. Great selection of specialty topic books as well as beautiful copies of well-known fiction plus a wide range of new kid's picture books. Best of all, the price is always amazing low for the quality of the books you find. I never leave without at least one more book than I intended to buy, but that's a good thing!
