Fonda Mexican
Fonda embodies the philosophy: My house, your house or Mi Casa Su Casa! Mexicans use the word "Fonda" to describe a local house with an open kitchen. It's a place where people come together to enjoy a mothers cooking. It's warm, welcoming and relaxed. Food is fresh and cooked with love.
I was excited to hear find out that the original Fonda was actually set up here in Richmond. It is a delicious mexican joint with a hip vibe has a great set up/decor. It is no Mama Sita's although the ingredients are quite fresh. The portion sizes of the tacos could be better. I really enjoyed the beef salad that I got however and the mocktails, although very sweet are quite tasty and refreshing. Fish tacos are my must get!
We were greeted on arrival by the friendly front of house and taken to a table promptly.
It's a casual place to dine but they don't seem to be snobby or pass much judgement on people which is refreshing. The food came out promptly and together which was good. It's great, yummy stuff, the corn was nice and tacos very good too. Reasonably priced place, would go there again.
