Supermarket & Grocery Stores
FoodWorks Alexandra
102 Grant St
Alexandra, VIC, 3714
Given its the only supermarket in Alexandra, its good the variety is there but i felt prices were slightly more expensive than anywhere else. It still has the old look and feel to it. I popped in to grab something small and it was a Sunday afternoon. They were busy with only a few people it seems on the floor but there was a line at the registers and i was only requiring assistant at the cigarette counter but i did have to wait for a bit until the staff served everyone. I don't think they even realised i was there as they were busy going thru scanning the items that their heads were looking down the whole time until they finished and looked up and saw me. I believe more staff is required in the afternoon and especially when they are the only supermarket in town.
The local supermarket for this small country town Alexandra, probably their largest in terms of big chian supermarket based out in the heart of Grant Street. I was here on a Sunday, it had quite a number of people, well given most of the neighbouring shops were almost all closed. There is a decent size liquor shop just by the right entrance. I came in to purchase a packet of cigarettes for my brother; the price I found was probably on par with most other major supermarket. A few weeks ago when I was here earlier and had filled up a tank of petrol at the local Mobil and purchased the same packet of cigarettes at the other place and found it to be a few dollars more expensive. Girl at the checkout was friendly and efficient, no complaints here. Definitely a place to return if in need of some grocery needs knowing that they were trading on a Sunday.
