I recently purchased a vehicle from Frankston Mitsubishi for my daughter. At the time of purchase, the salesperson , told us that the car was roadworthy and had new tires. Usually I would have my mechanic check the car before purchase, however given the distance of the dealership from my mechanic and the salesperson's reassurances that "if your mechanic finds anything wrong with the car that makes it unroadworthy, just call us and we will fix it for you", I proceeded to purchase. We also requested the roadworthy certificate and were told this would be sent via post. A few days later, my mechanic (plus another mechanic I later took it to) looked at the car and found that a lens of the car is cracked to the extent that the vehicle is unroadworthy. Even more disturbing, apparently the tires were on the verge of being unroadworthy and had merely been sprayed to appear new, meaning I've incurred costs to replace them.
