Worst decision ever made choosing Franson homes. Dream house is a nightmare house. Poor quality. Months over contract and still no competition date in sight. Don't pay trades, trades won't return to finish work. Using any tradesmen they can because their regular trades won't work for them anymore.....stay away from Franson homes
Have paid more than a 5% deposit which was to cover permit fees etc more than 3 months ago but have been advised that Franson will be shutting down. Left without a permit...
At least it's at the start you'll be able to claim on insurance, insurance claims are only 20% of contract price maximum $200,000.00 despite the headaches you shouldn't be out of pocket
I have had the same issue where they went over in time and although completed they have not gone back to fix up a few issues as per builders warranty.
We have a lovely home built by Franson, but can't get them back to do their contracted and agreed repairs. Once they have all your money, that's it! You wont see them again. Shame as the relationship started off so well. We even had our own independent inspector, as they recommended. And when issues were identified by our inspector, they were dismissed by "their worker" who said it's OK. They didn't even clean the site properly and the level of cleaning before we moved in was sub-standard. My advice - make sure your schedule of payments leaves 5% over until the mandatory maintenance period and repairs are done.
We have this house built by franson a year ago. Roof just kept on leaking and when we tried contacting them, they're nowhere to be found. We heard office was closed? I hope government can do something about this.
Wow. It seems that since I posted a commented about franson, others have appeared. Prior to selecting them, I did my homework and searched the internet for any blogs about them, but didn't find anything. Heaps about Metricon, which us why I didnt go with them. Sounds like we were lucky in that our house was finished and only had relatively small issues in comparison. However, worried about what problems we may have in the future when things start to become troublesome, especially those pointed out by our inspector. It would appear that honest builders are extremely rare.
