Frasers @ Cathedral Beach

I Booked the permanently erected double tent through the cathedrals website and paid in full at the time. I Also purchased the cancelation insurance which was kindly offered on the website as an addition to the booking. Unfortunately my 4x4 vehicle suffered a mechanical failure 4 weeks out and has been in the workshop since waiting for parts. Without going into to much detail my vehicle still was not fixed in time for the trip. I called up 6 days prior to the booking date as this was the moment I found out the car would definitely not be fixed to try and make a claim through Cathedrals recommended cancellation insurance CHUBB only to be told tough luck vehicles can not be used as a reason to cancel, I explained that Fraser Island requires 4x4 vehicles to access the accomodation and his words were sorry that’s the national insurance policy on cancelations. Stayed at Cathedral Beach and was extremely happy with the site, food and service. I will be returning there next time on Fraser
