Be very careful of Charles and fre, avoid them if you can. I would give zero stars if I could. To cut the long story short, he tried to get us to pay $165 for a plumber that did not come at an arranged time, and in the process wrongly accused us of cancelling two appointments in the last minute. To make matters worse, when the plumber did eventually come, he did so without informing us (which was illegal). He wrote us a very condescending email which put all the blame on us (the tenants) without getting his facts right. There is another guy in there, Rich, who is a more decent man and much better to deal with, but unfortunately Charles appears to be his boss.

Beware of this agent. From day one alarm bells were ringing. I successfully won at VCAT, looking at many reviews of Fre Real Estate online I’m not the only one. It’s almost comical that there’s a real estate agent that doesn’t know the basics of the tenancy act and tries to bully you into paying for costs which aren’t related to the tenant.

I've had an excellent experience both times I've rented through FRE over the last 9 years. I find them to be clear and straightforward in their communication and have always fixed any property issues quickly as long as the owner had approved it. If the owner didn't approve, FRE let me know in good time. I've always found them to be flexible and helpful and would happily rent through them again. Thanks for everything Charles and Liz!

I am extremely surprised by some of the reviews but did notice they are quite old. I have been a tenant with FRE Real estate for almost 9yrs and have just recently moved out. My experience with FRE has been nothing less than a very positive one. Anytime that I needed a repair carried out or even more recently new appliances installed, it was always actioned promptly and Charles and his team did everything possible to ensure that it was carried out at times that suited my work hours and that was convenient for me. The trades that Charles use have all been wonderful to deal with and stick by the times that they promise. Charles has gone above and beyond in the past two weeks to ensure that my transition to my apartment has been a stress free one. His flexibility and patience has been greatly appreciated. Charles has been an excellent landlord and I will miss the great relationship we have had. The new tenant is in great hands!

Terrible organisation, Charles is so so so rude, threatening and unprofessional.
I would NEVER recommend this comp at to my worst nightmare.
