Gartelmann Wines

This was one of the best tastings I went to in the Hunter Valley.
Great location next to a beautiful pond with lotus flowers.
You can order a cheese platter to nibble on, a bottle of wine and sit by the pond.
The staff member was simply amazing – she did not pressure us to buy. She asked what kind of wines we liked and gave us a number of wines to try. For the sparkling wines, she would have a quick taste (and spit) to check that it was good – so when she realised that the open bottle of sparkling was not perfect, she quickly opened a new bottle for us.
She was very knowledgeable; and she gave us tips on how to sip and taste wines, as well as how to store them.
The cheese platter we bought was delicious too – and definitely needed after the generous wine tasting. It had 3 cheeses, and 4 other condiments. Fig and olive were the best. And the staff gave us extra crackers for free too, which was great.
