Genki Mart

No longer the only Japanese grocery mart in Brisbane, but IMO one of the two best, and the only one I've found northside. Super helpful staff, and they have every japanese ingredient and snack you can think of (so many pokki!). They also have a range of sake/shochu/etc - note you must buy a certain value of groceries vs sake according to their licence. Reasonably priced also - even for the common items you may find at coles many are cheaper here. If you want to do some japanese cooking, or just have a craving for hello panda, this is your store...

Only just discovered this amazing Japanese grocery mart and I've lived in the area all my life. I can't believe their insane selection of Japanese food items. Got everything I needed to make my first okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake). Have since become a member and just love to shop there! Would highly recommend this store for all the locals wanting to try Japanese! #reviewtowin

I LOVE GENKI MART! The staff are so lovely and very helpful. I arrived early one Sunday morning and the young man working there opened up early for me - so nice! The shop is so clean and lovely, with cute and helpful displays. They have THE BEST sushi rice and a great range of products including pickled daikon, seasoned seaweed in a jar, seaweed salad in the freezer, jars of pickles, curries, sweets, frozen octopus balls and a great selection of..... everything! The prices are also very reasonable.

Can't wait for their next promotion! A great and well run small business.
