Gerald's Bar

Looking for a place to kick on after dinner in Carlton North? Then Gerald's Bar on Rathdowne Street is somewhere you would consider popping in for a few drinks. My manager lives in a nearby suburb and always talks about this place. We sat outside as it was a lovely evening and placed our first order. Being a bar with a milk bar shop front, there was a good vibe as patrons were mainly outgoing individuals who enjoyed a bit of art mixed with class. Why I used the word class is because I couldn't find the cheaper basic spirits as I would find in the western suburbs. The decor inside was nice and the toilet had quite quirky wall art. Would love to come back as they stock a broader variety of drinks. Service from the waiter outside was prompt and attentive although the place gets so busy that a simple mixed drink could take an extra 5 mins to come out. Great atmosphere as there isn't overly loud music in the background so talking to your party won't be such a tough task.
