Gilhooley's Irish Pub & Restaurant

Gilhooley's is now permanently closed and has been replaced by a new restaurant called Provenance

My family and I have been here twice over the last 2 yrs with Entertainment Book coupons. We go for a weekend lunch and just order the massive 500g Rump Well done with Chips and Salad or Corn on the Cob. We have never had an issue with service or bad food. Both times we were happy with what we got and the kids loved it. It is a great place to look around the walls and watch the big screen whilst waiting for food. I am planning on going again with the next coupon :).

Food is pretty bad, ordered a rib on the bone and the barramundi with the extra prawn and sauce for an extra $4.95 the sauce tasted like it just came out of a packet and there was like 2 small prawns in it and the fish was very small, you would expect more for paying $20.95, the rib fillet steak was well done when asked for a medium-rare, We mentioned it to the staff who didnt really care and did nothing about it you would expect more for a $28 steak meal it came with 1/4 corn cobb and about 5chips, overall a rip off.
Dont go there if you expect a decent meal especially for how much they charge you would expect alot better, very dissapointing...

We ordered rib fillet and got rump....tough rump, that was dried out with watery sauce and 4 chips that seemed like left overs from the previous order. We mentioned to a senior staff member that the meal isn't nice, very tough and dried out, not the medium that you ordered and their approach is 'nothing i can do as I didn't see chef cook it'. I reply with mentioning that I"ve spent 7 years in hospitality industry and that I am never one to complain, however in this case the food was especially bad and the staff member's attitude even worse. I simply walked out.. not without making a mess, Later in the cinemas, I had a lady approach me saying.... 'we didn't think the food was that bad and thought you might of been over-reacting simply walking out, however after we had ours, we could see just why you did.
