GIORGIOS RESTAURANT & CAFE BAR
More of a cultural institution than just a restaurant, Georgios caters for everything, ranging from breakfast through to dinner, coffee to dining a la carte, and modern Australian cuisine to middle-eastern and Asian influences. Opposite the iconic Malvern town hall this hub of local dining culture offers a large outdoor terrace, indoor dining area, wine bar, function room and a semi enclosed heated outdoor area. With a wine list rivalling the menu, connoisseurs will feel right at home.

was an ok restaurant/dining experience. Service took much longer than expected considering it was a weeknight. I ordered the Moroccan chicken burger and it was cooked well (not dry). Unfortunately, the bottom of the bread was not toasted properly and there was way too much chicken compared to other ingredients. Chips were overly crunchy (like the bottom bits of the bucket that are basically fried oil). But maybe it was just the dish I ordered.
Giorgios is more of a restaurant than cafe. Located on the corner of glenferrie and high this is a very centrally located meeting spot. Personally I find the ambiance a little impersonal as it is a very large venue. Whilst the food is good (we had Pizza and wine), it doesnt have that cosy feel of some other options in the area
We could not eat our food which was too tough to cut with the cutlery provided. The wait staff asked if there was a problem so we explained. That was it. No further interest, no apology, no one came near to ask if we wanted coffee or anything else. Charged us full price. Never again at this overpriced place with slow and poor service.
Went here on Friday night for a birthday in a large group of about twenty. This place is huge and has a lot of outdoor seating, I imagine it would be a lot more enjoyable in the summer months. The food is very expensive, I ordered a lasagne which wasn't very good. It was watery and tasted like it was microwaved from frozen. However people around the table ordered steaks, parma, pizza (they all enjoyed their meals) and one person ordered kangaroo steak which I tasted for the first time and was very tender and delicious. Two of us ordered the lasagne and both said the same thing, so I guess to anyone who goes here, try anything but the lasagne. Although I didn't like my dish, I did try my friends' kangaroo, the pesto chicken pizza, and the chicken parma which were all delicious, so I'm giving three and a half stars for that, and also for the fact that we were in such a large group and I feel that they served us well considering.
