Glasgow Arms Hotel

This was an okay pub, but nothing really all that fantastic. I already knew about this place, and it happened to be on my way back to the hotel, so I ended up stepping in and checking in out. They have a nice beer garden down the side, and it is also part of a larger accommodation complex. The bar itself was fairly standard, with nothing all that flash on tap, though I have to say that they staff were quite nice. However from my initial impressions it seemed to be little more than a sports bar hidden away in Ultimo. Not really a place that I would go out and visit again in a hurry. Oh, they also had a restaurant, though the rest of the bar seemed to undermine any charm that it could have had. However, I did like the beer garden.

New owners! New kitchen! The whole place has been redone except the bar, with the outdoor smoking area bigger and with heaters on the roof, and the raised section inside is gone. Foods not bad at all..they have different specials for each day, and the barramundi is pretty good. There is no music in the background which is kind of lame; the TAB is the main feature in the bar now. Which is why i chose to sit in the outdoor area!!

This place underwhelms me. It could be so much a better bar is they livened up the interior. Having a beer the other night I saw the brassiere section pull out of the very frosted freezer a frozen steak. No surprise that I chose not to eat there.
