Gloria Jean's Coffees
On this hot summer day, I needed to take care of a couple of bills at the post office. After that, I thought I’d pop into Gloria Jeans for an iced coffee. There were 3 staff members behind the counter at the time I walked into the store. There weren’t many patrons inside and no one else in front of me so it seemed unnecessary for me to wait for my order to be taken. I was then acknowledged by the barista and almost immediately after had my order taken by one of the other staff members. My coffee didn’t take long to make as it was a cold drink and it came with a free smile from the barista. Finally, some signs of humanity from someone having a long day by the look of it. As for the coffee, itself, mediocre like any coffee chain store in our coffee obsessed society. I wouldn’t head back in a hurry if I felt like a coffee in the centre. There are a number of other coffee outlets I’d like to try before returning.
The person I assume is the franchisee needs to learn to appreciate customers, smile and to listen to their customers when taking orders and not grumbling when they get it wrong and complain that you didn't receive what you ordered. The signs that tell people "don't do this and don't do that" make it an unwelcoming environment. My suggestion is give them a wide berth and try one of the other cafes in the centre.
