Gloria Jean's Coffees
I went to Gloria jeans at gateway plaza in Warrnambool at 4.10pm today (Saturday 27th July). I ordered my coffee which I couldn’t even hold properly in my hands it was that ridiculously hot, I waited 50 minutes before it reached a drinkable temp. The store was due to close at 5pm, yet the staff had one half of the doors shut, implying that the store was closing? In my opinion that’s usually a deterrent to customers and implys ‘please don’t come in’.
Absolutely appalling. I’ve gotten a coffee here twice now on my way home because it saves driving into the CBD. I now know that I’d rather drive to Darwin for a coffee than buy here again. The coffee was scolding hot, so hot it would make Chilli jealous. It had no taste, it was sour, way too bitter and was clear there was no sugar in it although I asked for 2. I don’t understand how a shop that specialises in Coffee can be so awful at making them. You either need to fire the baristas or train them properly. I took one sip and threw it away and was very tempted to go and ask for my money back. This coffee (calling it that is a big stretch) was hands down the WORST beverage I have ever tried. Will never ever be setting foot in this terrible place again.
On Sunday the 20/04/2014 Myself and a Friend arrived at Gloria Jeans (we were waiting for 3 others to also arrive) to have a catch up and to enjoy a coffee and nibbles! we took a seat on the comfy seats at the rear of the cafe! we moved 1 "small" seat to make the seating arrangements more practical for when the other 3 arrive! soon after doing so one of the staff walked out from behind the counter with an absolutely vile look on her face, they signaled to the management to come over who hastily muttering out loudly said that they wont have the furniture moved and with force threw the chair back into its original position with such rage! "I have never witnessed anything like it in my life" What appalling behavior from them!!.. We both waited for the other 3 to arrive and explained the situation in detail in which the 5 of us decided to leave as my friend and I who were involved in the incident were quite disgusted and shaken up, beware of them, well done! ...read more
Gloria Jeans Cafe is located at the front entrance of the Gateway Plaza. The interior is modern and spacious, the decor is in smart chocolate colours, with a couple of large coffee themed murals on the wall. Behind the counter the menu is on the wall, making for easy reading. There are good seating and table options, with a lounge area at the rear which makes for relaxing, drinking, eating, reading. Outside, beside the entrance, there is a covered glass partitioned eating area. We stopped by for a quick coffee, two large latte's, they were smooth, with good crema. Great place to stop and give yourself a break from shopping.
