Goju Ryu Karate
Kyoukei Goju Ryu Karate, as Glendenning's first Karate club, has been operating since 2000 with 13 classes. We have had many state and national champions in different organised tournaments over the years. In 2007 we topped the medal tally at every club tournament. We also run our own successful tournaments, the last one with over 114 competitors. Our club has been nominated for Sports Team of the Year in the Blacktown council sports awards.
In 2012 our tournament became a part of the Blacktown City Games.
Glendenning, Quakers Hills, ropes Crossing and Hassall Grove have three instructors, Sensei Marty Bodsworth - 3rd Dan Blackbelt (Training since 1982, teaching since 1991 and instructs Tuesday and Wednesday evenings), Sensei Scott McIntyre - 3rd Dan (Blackbelt) and Sensei felicity Long - Sho Dan (Blackbelt) . All three are internationally recognised Blackbelts and all of our instructors are senior first aid accredited.
Our classes focus on traditional Japanese Karate as well as discipline and respect, our instructors and student attend numerous seminars every year here and in Japan so you can be assured that we are only teaching the correct and latest techniques.
