Came here for their lunch time set menu special. I had the spring roll and dimsim for entree, the Black Bean Beef with Fried Rice for main and was very satisfied with the portions. Nice day outside and like the outdoor area here watcing the hustle and bustle of the main strip! Definitely would come back as the service is good, the wait times reasonable and value for money is on point.
After having a steady stream of Thai Food while I was in Sydney I decided that it was probably time to have something different, and as I was passing through Chinatown on my way back to the hotel I suddenly discovered what I was going to have Chinese. So I stepped into the restaurant, well not actually stepped inside because they have an outdoor eating area, and ordered a beef dish (I can't remember what it was, though I know it was beef because I always order beef) along with some rice. It was pretty good, though I can't say it was cheap. The waiter was really friendly, and my meal came out pretty promptly. What I really liked about this place though was that they had those fish tanks inside which say to me authentic Chinese. Oh, they also had some pretty decent chopsticks as well not that wooden throw away ones that you see around the place.
USED to go here a fair bit, not anymore! Have never been treated so rudely by a wait staff than I was today. When I asked to speak to the management they apologised but I didn't see them speaking to the staff about it, nor did they say they would, so I can only assume they condones their staff treating their customers this way. In fairness the other staff were lovely. But this wait staff was beyond disrespectful, downright shocking. Will NEVER spend my money here again.
I arrived here early for dinner, 5.45pm. First to arrive, I took a chance as I was starving. I ordered the Steamed Harbour Prawns with garlic and Mixed Vegetables. Well ... it came quickly - not together, so my veges had to wait for the prawns to arrive, but better that way around than the reverse. The prawns were wonderful - tender, melt in the mouth, a dozen lovely morsels. The garlic flavour was great - so entirely enjoyable that I didn't want it to end! Very nice vegetables also. The fish tanks have today's catch, ready for the menu - on the day I was there the offerings were giant crab, scampi, fish and abalone. I like it!
This restaurant used to be ok for yum cha but not anymore. I went there last week for lunch but ended up having fast food. The food and service was no longer up to the standard they had before, even the restaurants next door had better service then golden harbour as I sat outside looking around at my surrounding.
